REGISTERED PRACTICAL NURSE (RPN), Sudbury ON

Temporary, 1 open-ended full-time contract positions (2-week notice period from both parties).  Must be available to work varying shifts, weekends and statutory holidays

POSITION SUMMARY

The Registered Practical Nurse provides holistic, person-centred nursing care in accordance with MMH policies and procedures. You will assess and anticipate residents’ physical, emotional, spiritual, and psychosocial needs; develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans; and recommend adjustments to optimize outcomes. RPNs manage stable residents independently and support RNs in caring for those with complex or unstable conditions. You will also serve as a positive role model for colleagues, volunteers, families, and the broader community.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Necessary:

  • Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Certified in LEAP Core (Learning Essential Approaches to Palliative Care) or willingness to complete within 3 months of hire
  • Police Vulnerable Sector Check (current)
  • Demonstrated expertise in pain and symptom management for advanced-illness patients
  • Certification in medication administration

Preferred:

  • Recent clinical experience in hospice/palliative care (HPC) is preferred
  • Fundamentals & Comprehensive Advanced Palliative Care Education (CAPCE) if applicable???
  • Bilingualism (English/French), written and verbal, (or willingness to pursue) is an asset
  • Certified in IV administration an asset

  • Highly developed problem-solving and conflict management skills.
  • Compassionate interpersonal style, adept at supporting residents and families through end-of-life care
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

 

SALARY: Starting at $31.30 (commensurate with experience)
