The Personal Support Worker (PSW) provides compassionate, person-centred care to residents and their families, including end-of-life support. POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Necessary:
- Graduation from an accredited PSW program with valid certification
- Clear Police Vulnerable Sector Check
- Physical capability for frequent standing, bending, walking, and lifting
- Completion of LEAP Personal Support Worker or willingness to certify within three months of hire
Preferred:
- Level 1 Hospice Palliative Care (HPC) course completion
- Fundamentals of Hospice Palliative Care course (or actively pursuing)
- Recent experience in medical or hospice palliative care
- Bilingualism (English/French), written and verbal, (or willingness to pursue) is an asset
Other Skills / Abilities:
- Deep understanding of and commitment to the hospice philosophy of care
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong time-management and decision-making abilities
- Comfort with repetitive tasks and basic computer applications
- Ability to work collaboratively under the direction of an RN or RPN
SALARY: Starting at $24.36 (commensurate with experience)
