CLINICAL MANAGER – RESIDENTIAL PROGRAM, Sudbury ON

 37.5 hours per week + on-call and occasional shift work

POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting directly to the Executive Director (ED), the Clinical Manager (CM) of the Residential Program is responsible for leading a team of nursing staff to ensure the delivery of a standard of excellence in bedside care, promoting independence, dignity and positively enhancing the lives of individuals in the location of their choice. The CM of the Residential Program works collaboratively with the CM of the Community Program to maximize residential bed occupancy, client flow and suitability.

  • Clinical and supervisory responsibilities including; staffing, supervising, scheduling, orientating new nursing staff and students

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Necessary:

  • BScN with a Certificate of Competence in the Province of Ontario.
  • Certification in Hospice Palliative Care (HPC) with the Canadian Nurses’ Association, or in the process of working to write this exam.
  • Clear Vulnerable Sector Police Check
  • Bilingualism (English/French), written and verbal is required.

Experience:

  • Minimum of three years of recent experience in Hospice Palliative Care.

Other Skills/Abilities

  • Current CPR certification.
  • Evidence of self-directed learning, demonstrated commitment to life-long learning, and willingness to participate in ongoing training and professional development.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, make appropriate decisions, and accept responsibility for outcomes.
  • Adaptable to frequent changes that occur in daily activities of each program.
  • Proven ability to supervise, support, and educate a team of nursing staff (ideally in HPC), with an understanding of small unit culture with a team approach.
  • Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, and Outlook).

Salary range:

  • $43.48 to $53.60 depending on experience
