Maison McCulloch Hospice is taking another pivotal step in its evolution, and is proud to be on the threshold of becoming the central service hub for the delivery of sustainable and integrated hospice palliative care in the Greater Sudbury region.
In collaboration with local health care partners, the Hospice assessed the needs of the community, as well as its own infrastructural needs. This comprehensive evaluation, initiated in June 2015, confirmed that its facility is too small to accommodate its present and future hospice palliative care programs and services.
The time has come to expand the community residential hospice. The 3-year $8.4M STAND BY ME Campaign, launched in February 2017, will fund the expansion project, as well as renovations to the existing building. The Campaign will directly benefit those living with, or affected by, serious illness and grief. It will also enable the Hospice to offer ongoing support and training to health care professionals, volunteers, and caregivers who provide this vital care at home and in the community.
