Supportive Care & Grief Services

Maison McCulloch Hospice invites you to attend

« I’m Not Alone »

 a hospice “ZOOM” online grief discussion group
every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month

Through our Supportive Care Services, we are better able to ensure that the psychosocial and spiritual needs of our residents, clients and families are met, both through the dying process and the grief and bereavement stages. These services allow our team to:

  1. Assess the psychosocial and spiritual needs of residents and clients of the Residential Program and the Shared Care Team;
  2. Develop a psychosocial and spiritual care plan for residents and clients of the Residential Program and the Shared Care Team, and update regularly;
  3. Provide support to meet the wide range of cultural, spiritual and religious needs of those we serve;
  4. Provide support to meet the wide range of psychosocial, social, and practical needs of those we serve both during the dying process and after the death has occurred;
  5. Advocate on behalf of those we serve;
  6. Intervene in general crisis stress management and spiritual or religious crisis management;
  7. Assist with outreach client assessment, with members of the Shared Care Team;
  8. Assist with critical decision-making when faced with dilemmas and crisis;
  9. Provide grief and bereavement support through follow-up program and grief recovery program, which includes telephone follow-up calls, individual grief coaching sessions, and group discussions;
  10. Facilitate and/or promote workshops and information sessions on the role of Supportive Care and on the topic of grief and bereavement within palliative care and other contexts, within the community.

Grief coaching is offered one-on-one to anyone in the community, not only residents, clients and families of the Hospice.

For more information on the program, please contact our Manager of Supportive Care & Grief Services by calling 705-674-9252 ext. 227.
