Maison McCulloch Hospice is now a 20 bed facility located on the beautiful and tranquil Bethel Lake in Sudbury, Ontario. It would not be as successful as it is if it wasn’t for our amazing volunteers. We thank you for choosing Maison McCulloch Hospice as your community organization of choice.
We welcome everyone to volunteer at the Hospice in any of the following roles:
- Direct Volunteer
- Bingo (Charitable Gaming Association of Valley East/Delta Bingo)
- Complementary Therapy
- Gardening
- Grief and Bereavement Support (Bilingualism required – French/English)
- Hospitality
- Kitchen
- Maintenance
Volunteer Opportunities
Opportunities to volunteer are available in both our residential and community programs. Volunteer support in any of our programs providing compassion makes a positive impact on the lives of our residents, community clients and their families.
Direct Volunteer
Direct volunteers provide companionship to our residents in the Hospice and in our community. Role specific training is required. (30 hr online – offered by Hospice Palliative Care Ontario).
Bingo (Charitable Gaming Association of Valley East/Delta Bingo)
Bingo volunteers for the Charitable Gaming Association of Valley East are customer service ambassadors on behalf of Maison McCulloch Hospice. Minimum of 2 Bingo sessions per month.
Complementary Therapy
Complementary therapy volunteers provide services such as pet therapy, music therapy, Reiki, and art therapy. Certification is required.
Gardening
Gardening volunteers assist with the maintaining of the Hospice grounds to ensure that our residents and visitors have a peaceful and beautiful natural environment to enjoy.
Grief & Bereavement Support
Grief and bereavement support volunteers work with our professional staff to offer support to those who have lost a loved one. Opportunities to work with adults, teens or children are available.
Hospitality
Hospitality volunteers provide a warm and welcoming environment to all our residents and visitors. They provide direction, socialize, and interact with staff, residents, and visitors in common areas.
Kitchen
Kitchen volunteers prepare individualized meals for residents, prepare tasty home-baked goods, and provide a light lunch option for visitors and family members.
Maintenance
Maintenance volunteers assist with general maintenance tasks indoor and outdoor at Maison McCulloch Hospice based on individuals’ knowledge and skills.
